The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Tomorrow night is, of couse, New Year's Eve.



Typically we would be going over to a friends house for a fairly low key gathering of friends to ring in the New Year. We are usually in bed before 1:00AM on New Years morning.



This year is going to be different. As New Years Eve is a Wednesday Patrick & Co. had dibbs on booking Shampoo. Instead of just doing a "Nocturne New Years" he elected to run a 5th Dracula's Ball to end 2008. To top it off he booked the most amazing and successful act he has ever promoted to play the Ball...None other than The Cruxshadows!



So we will be dressing up and stepping out to spend New Years Eve with our fellow crazies in Philly.



FM is planning on being there as well as Chiyo, who we met at the last Dracula's Ball. Hopefully our friends from the Philly Goth scene will be there as well.



Really looking forward to this. We saw the Cruxshadows a bit over a year ago and they were AMAZING! It should be a great night.

Since this is another short week and we have a "use it or lose it" vacation policy I was one of only 3 Managers at work today, and the only one in the Operations group. So, of course, I had to ahndle every stupid question that came up all day.



Thankfully I am only working 1/2 a day tomorrow...out of there at noon. I hope someone else is in tomorrow or the will be screwed when they want to know if it's OK to keep running something that's the wrong color...

I'm just sayin'

I know most of my friends here on VR are interested in...if not obsessed with yummy food. So I thought it appropriate to give a brief review of the holiday offerings at our house over the past few weeks.



Gina made a great meal for Yule.



Pork tenderloin, stuffed with a combination of pecans, cranberries and apples with cinnamon and rosemarry. With it we had a roasted vegatable mix of butternut squash, sweet potatoes and apples. For dessert she made a chocolate yule log with raspberry filling and chocolate buttercream icing!



On Christmas Eve I made Roast Duck al'orange, asperegus with hollandaise sauce, stuffing with dates, rasins, plums, pecans and figs and french fried sweet poatoes.



Christmas dinner we had 14 people! I made Roast Prime Rib of Beef, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Green beans, Yorkshire Pudding and Beef gravy. Dessert was chocolate peanut butter pie and plum pudding!

Yeah, i know...i said i would be around more and I wasn't!



I Suck!



I had good intentions but lacked the time.



Advent was a real busy time around church. Choir practices, band practices and some adults were in the pagent this year...I was a very regal Caeser Augustus, so there were practices for that too.



A bunch of people have been blowing off responsibilities at work, so I have had a buch of other folks work to pick up as well as my own. - More on how pissed off i am at work later...



David has advanced to Star Scout in Boy Scouts and was also elected Senior Patrol Leader (Which is the boy leader of his troop), So I have been putting in extra time helping him with his scout responsibilities.



Gina's car took forever to get back on the road - but it's good to go now with a nicley welded frame, new brakes, new tires, fresh inspection...Yeah!



Christmas decorations got put up rather late, We had to wait for the girls to be able to make it home to trim the tree, so that got put off until the 13th which is way late for us. But it got done!



Now, back to work. A salesman for one of our adhesive vendors was in and mentioned that they bought a product line from a European competitor so they will have a larger presence in the US market now. He also mentioned that they were looking to hire someone to head up Tech Support for their adhesive line. So I made some inquireries and the week before Christmas took a trip to the Boston area for an interview. It went very well and I expect to hear from them in the next 2 weeks. I'm not sure if we really want to move at this point, but it will be good to have some options and leverage.



So that's a little of what I've been up to.



I'll try to be around more and keep you all up to date on "stuff" in my life.

YAY I'm glad that it's all good things, not bad things that have kept you away! Life does this, to us all- just when we think it's ok to say *whew* something happens *gets paranoid shifty eyes* it was an example- really I don't want anything to happen....
